nayalita pizza was great- the crust and pizza dough itself was so amazing! the complimentary bread that came with the meal was also great tried my friends pesto pasta and it was so rich- if you like the basil taste then it's a must get
Hungry on a Wednesday night and stumbled upon a 4-corse combo dinner deal ($62/PP) that comes with a wine bottle? Yes, please! I didn't feel like getting dressed and going out so I heard the dinner deal was applicable on DoorDash! Absolutely, yes! I will just say, if I ever step foot in this facility, the only thing I will be purchasing is the mussel pasta! It is to die for... in my opinion. I also got the steamed mussels, tiramisu cake and Hampod pizza (not pictured). The bread (not pictured) that came with the pasta was so soft!! Please be advised the free wine bottle is only on wednesdays!!!! But the combo dinner is everyday.
We've had Pink Onion more times than I can count--dining in, takeout, and even delivery through DoorDash and Uber Eats. No matter how we get it, they never disappoint! First off, the atmosphere--upbeat, busy, and fun. The place is small but runs like a well-oiled machine, keeping the energy high while making sure everyone is taken care of nonstop. First off, shoutout to Gabriel, Gabe, and David--these guys are awesome. Super chill, easy to talk to, and always spot-on with wine and food recommendations. Now, let's talk about what we've tried... Pizzas: * The Pink Alarm--Just the right amount of heat to keep things interesting without overpowering the flavor. So good! * Bruce Bochy--Pepperoni, garlic, and mushrooms? Yes, please. The flavors are perfectly balanced. * Hot Boy--Listen, "Can I get a hot booooy?!" The soppressata and hot honey combo is straight fire! Pastas: * La Bolognese--Rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. One of my faves. * Rigatoni Vodka--The real winner! Just the right amount of heat, the perfect pasta-to-sauce ratio--pure perfection. Salads: I've had the Pink Onion, Avocado, and Pear Endive salads, and they're all light and refreshing. But my go-to? The Avocado Salad--it just hits different. Appetizers: The Parma e Burrata plate? Absolute perfection. Enough said. Dessert: I cannot forget about the tiramisu--moist, decadent, and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Now, if you visit on a Wednesday, let me put you on-- You get a combo meal: an appetizer or salad, pasta, a small pizza, and dessert plus a free bottle of wine. Like, what?! YES, Lordt! Every time I stop in, I try a different wine while waiting, and I've yet to be disappointed. Tonight was no different--had an off-the-menu pizza (, it was bomb AF), my beloved Vodka Pasta, and my favorite Avocado Salad. Beyond the food, I just appreciate the energy and hospitality these guys bring every single time. Pink Onion is truly a gem!
Last night I left a poor review for this place because of a situation with my deliveries. The manager got in touch with me this morning and looked into what really happened, which was not what the delivery guy was describing at all. Not only do I appreciate the quality of their food, but the time and care when I had a problem was extraordinary. Thank you, Matt. Now I'm just sad I didn't get my pizza, and that Purple Onion didn't get the money for it. I'll definitely be back. Best crust in the biz.
I've been wanting to try this place out since they have the $60 combo deal with wine on Wednesdays. This is a great dinner deal for 2 people! For their combo deal we ordered... Steamed Mussels: The broth that was served with the mussels was so tasty! I can continuously eat these mussels for daysss, 10/10 recommend Pasta Tartufo: I love truffle so I really wanted to try this pasta. It was good, but didn't realize they used whole wheat pasta until I reread the menu, no wonder the pasta tasted a bit different. I'd try another pasta dish next time to compare. Gotham pizza: Loved the toppings on this pizza! The ricotta, sausages, and hot honey was so good! I wish the pizza had more sausage pieces. Tiramisu: Delicious. You can definitely taste the coffee. Light and creamy dessert! Their red wine was nothing too special, but can't complain on a free wine bottle. You can definitely take the wine bottle home if you can't finish the bottle since the bottle is a twist off. The restaurant is quite small, so I recommend making reservations if you plan to dine in on Wednesdays. I'd definitely would take advantage of their combo deal again and just order takeout. This place is popping with multiple takeout orders.
Me and my friend came by on a Tuesday and got the combo meal which in my opinion is super worth the price. We got the meatballs as an appetizer, prosciutto pizza and bolognese. It even came with dessert at the end (bomb ass tiramisu). Our server was very nice and attentive. The ambiance is alright, it's sort of in a random hole in the wall somewhere near the soma of sf, limited parking but if you come by before 4pm it should be pretty easy. Will come back on a Wednesday to get the wine next time (heard lots of good things about it).
Came back here because I was craving some delicious pizza. The hot honey pizza was good, but I think the magic mushroom is much better. the hot honey pizza bread was pretty soggy on the bottom, and not crispy as I hoped. Besides that, flavor was still delicious and the burrata salad is still my favorite salad EVER!!
Had an amazing dinner experience that I'm still thinking about. First, the service is amazing! We were immediately greeted by the host at the door who checked us into our reservation, but since no seats were available yet he gave us a complimentary glass of wine. The inside is cute, but pretty small so make sure to make a reservation during busier hours! Once seated, we had the complimentary bread and it was sooo delicious! We ended up ordering the $60 combo meal with an add-on of another small pizza. For appetizer we got the steamed mussel (such a yummy broth we literally took the rest to go even though no mussels were left). For the pasta we got the bolognese which was solid. Would prob try a different pasta next time. For the pizza, we got the magic mushroom (im craving it now as I write this review it was soooo good). And our second pizza was the tyson punch out which was also good! I need to come back ASAP for the combo on a wednesday to get a free bottle of wine.
Really great food and vibe. Shortly after walking in, you'll feel like you are hanging out in the family room of your old high school friend who was an effortlessly natural host. The staff is fun, laid back, and dishing out positive vibes. Prices are very reasonable. The namesake pink onion salad is really stellar, and fresh berries make it shine. Generously sized pasta dishes and pizza too. The pizza list is expansive or you can customize - and get a great thin crust pie. Also appreciate a local but not too mainstream tap rotation It's not too loud, and would be a great under the radar pick for a hang, catch up with a good friend, or date night.
